Spooky All Hallows’ Eve

Enjoy an evening of fun and games as we introduce you to the origins of some of our favourite Halloween traditions. The historic village transforms into an array of spooky-fun scenes from ghostly graveyards to witches’ lairs. This all-ages event is sure to get you into the Halloween spirit.

  • Learn about investigations undertaken by the Paranormal Seekers at Lang Pioneer Village Museum
  • Hear stories of the Wendigo
  • Discover the history of coffins and body snatching
  • Stingy Jack played by Glen Caradus
  • Uncover the secrets lurking in the mystery crocks
  • Find your way through the maze
  • Learn the origin of trick-or-treating
  • Try a treat from the Botched Bakery
  • Face painting by Faces By 2
  • Pirate treasure map scavenger hunt
  • See the man-eating plant from Madagascar
  • Visit the graveyard
  • Learn the story of werewolves
  • Visit the witches lair and find out your witch’s name
  • Mind-bending magic show (sets at 6:30, 7:30 & 8:30 – Please note: the building capacity is 45 people so be sure to plan ahead!)
  • Performances by the Peterborough Scottish Country Dancers
  • Meet Madam Fortune and find out your fortune
  • Participate in a lesson on potions and poisons
  • Hot chocolate and sweet treats for sale at the Hotel ($)
  • Witness a séance
  • Freshly popped kettle corn and candy floss by Ben’s Kettle Corn ($)
  • Witness a witch dance
  • Experience an 1890s Halloween party

  • Learn about Samhain, a Celtic fire festival
  • Kids receive a treat bag at the end of the night

Admission: Adults- $17, Students & Seniors (60+) – $12, Youths 2 to 14 Years of Age – $9, Free for Children Under 2 Years of Age, Family Pass (includes 2 Adults and up to 4 Youths) – $45

Please note: Events run rain or shine. Special activities are subject to change due to weather, materials, volunteer availability and unforeseen circumstances. In the event of extreme circumstances which require cancellation, a notice will be posted on our social media pages. On-site parking is available on a first come first served basis.
