Christmas by Candlelight

Saturday, December 2 ~ 4 pm to 8 pm
Sunday, December 3 ~4 pm to 8 pm

Get into the merriment of the season with a traditional Pioneer Christmas. Join along in a carol sing, tour the village by wagon ride, meet Father Christmas and learn about the origins or Christmas traditions we celebrate today. On Sunday, witness a live nativity by the Keene United Church. Delight in the sights, sounds and smells of the holiday season with us!

  • Horse & wagon rides
  • Visit with Father and Mother Christmas
  • Hand-bell ringers the Note-a-Bells performing Christmas songs 
  • Hymns and caroling in the Glen Alda Church
  • Ham and savoury on a bun served in PCAHB ($)
  • Listen to the story of the Flying Canoe, traditional shanties and Christmas songs performed by Glen Cardus and Fiddling Jay 
  • Christmas Raffle ($)
  • Learn the story of the mammoth cheese ball in the Cheese Factory
  • Learn about traditional Christmas treats in the Milburn House and try some Turkish delight
  • Winter sleigh photobooth
  • Carving demonstrations by master carver Murray Lincoln
  • Chestnuts roasting on an open fire
  • Learn about the history of the nutcracker and why it has its iconic shape
  • Find out how the Michi Saagiig survived and thrived over the winter in the Aabnaabin Gallery
  • Participate in a traditional toast at the Fitzpatrick house
  • Try your hand at some reindeer games including wooden tandem skis, snowshoes and sled races
  • Learn the history of the toy maker in the Carpenter Shop
  • Listen to the traditional Christmas story T'was the Night Before Christmas
  • Enjoy freshly popped kettle corn by Ben's Kettle Corn ($)
  • Christmas raffle ($)
  • Live Nativity performed by members of the Keene United Church at 7 pm- Sunday only

 Admission: Adults- $15, Students & Seniors (60+) – $10, Youths 5 to 14 Years of Age – $7, Children Under 5 Years of Age – Free, Family Pass (includes 2 Adults and up to 4 Youths) – $40
