Heritage Harmonies: A Traditional Music Workshop

Monday & Tuesday, October 5 & 6 ~ 9:30 am to 3:00 pm

Explore the lovely sounds of traditional Ontario folk music during this engaging two-day workshop. Open to guitar, mandolin, and banjo players of all skill levels, this workshop offers a blend of instruction, collaboration and music-making in the heritage setting of Lang Pioneer Village Museum. Participants will enjoy guided lessons, group jam sessions, and engaging conversations about the traditions and stories behind Canada's musical heritage. Led by acclaimed musician and music historian Dr. Allan Kirby, the program draws on the rich history of traditional folk music in Peterborough County. Known for his approachable and interactive style, Dr. Kirby helps participants develop skills while fostering the joy of playing traditional music together. There are a limited number of spaces available. Advance registration is required.

Cost: $125 + HST per participant

Holiday Centrepiece Workshop

Saturday, November 14 ~ 10 am to 12 pm

Join our talented facilitator as she teaches you how to create your very own special centerpiece, just in time for the holidays! These festive centrepieces can also be used as exterior window dressings. Materials included are floral foam, greenery, pinecones and some ribbon options. Participants are encouraged to bring any extra embellishments they would like to use, including any lights or candles. Advance registration is required.
