Employment Opportunities

All positions require working unusual hours during the busy summer season and for special events. The museum is not on any bus or public transit routes so dependable transportation is required. From time to time the museum does have casual employment opportunities. Resumes may be submitted for consideration to:

Please note: The deadline for submitting applications for seasonal positions was Monday, February 8th, 2010. There are no other openings at the Museum currently but this page will be updated when positions become available.  

Seasonal Positions

Lang Pioneer Village offers seasonal employment from mid-May to Labour Day.

Historical Interpreter
The interpreter is required to interpret a number of different buildings and conduct demonstrations of domestic skills and crafts. They are responsible for the cleaning of their assigned building.

Gift Shop / Visitor Services
The Gift Shop / Visitor Services position is responsible for the daily operation of the Gift Shop including operating the retail sales and admissions cash registers, credit and debit card machine, greeting and orienting visitors, organizing guided tours, promoting sales of merchandise and assisting with the daily reconciliation of cash receipts and banking.

Refreshment Booth Food Services
The Refreshment Booth Food Services position is responsible for the daily operation of the food booth including running the cash register, food preparation and promoting the sales of refreshments.

Position requirements include:
* Excellent customer service skills
* Good communication skills
* Willingness to wear a costume
* Knowledge or interest in local history
* Available to work weekends as well as flexibility to work extra hours as required
* Experience handling cash preferred
* Preference will be given to those with an interest/ experience in carpentry and/or blacksmithing, cooking, sewing, landscaping.
* Food handling certificate or willingness to learn an asset
* Transportation to the Village
